First to Australia and set to open in Melbourne in mid-2019, Dreamcity is a place for children to be educated, entertained and inspired.
It’s not a theme park, an amusement centre or a museum. Dreamcity is an ‘edutainment’ attraction for children between 4 and 16 years old.
Edutainment is a relativity new term that describes the marriage between education and entertainment or put simply as Founder and CEO Kajal Pala describes it, ‘Dreamcity will provide children and adolescents an enjoyable way to learn.’
Kajal Pala is the dynamic visionary and founder of Dreamcity. The idea was born after Kajal identified a shortcoming in the market and the need for a conventional global edutainment provider. Kajal has been leading the Dreamcity project team for close to three years and has assembled an enviable foundation team of leading industry experts to help take this idea from a concept to reality.
With significant R&D and with the foundation team’s strategic input, Ms Pala has developed a unique ‘edutainment’ business model.
Requiring a footprint, the size of a city block, Dreamcity is designed as a city ‘run by kids'. As Ms Pala explains,’ From the moment the child arrives, the Dreamcity metropolis comes to life as a kid size replica of a real city, complete with a bank, a supermarket and public transport.’
Tapping into a child’s natural desire to create, explore and collaborate, at Dreamcity they learn about different careers, the inner-workings of a city and the concept of managing money, through assuming adult like professions in a role play setting.
Ms Pala adds, ‘One of the most effective ways to learn is by imitation and immersive activities. Dreamcity has 35-45 authentic adult like 'pods', each designed for children to develop important life skills and abilities, which will challenge and inspire them to explore a world of opportunities and empower them to become better global citizens’.
Dreamcity is a destination to empower the future of tomorrow – our children.
